Quotable Friday--Patrick Henry

In honor of the upcoming holiday, I am posting a quote from a man who'd been considered a treasonous scoundrel by the ruling powers.

    One of his neighbors going to see Patrick Henry found him reading the Bible. Holding it up in his Henry's hand, he [Henry] said:
   "This book is worth all the books that ever were printed, and it has been my misfortune that I have never found time to read it with the proper attention and feeling till lately. I trust in the mercy of Heaven that it is not yet too late."
